HEADSHOT DETAILS & RATES

The goal of any headshot session is to create a great marketing tool for yourself. That’s it. That’s the basic premise. In order to have a successful outcome, you need to convey an element of truth in any and every image that’s made. In our headshot session, you’ll be directed in ways to bring out your personal expression, enthusiasm and creativity, all while keeping it cool in front of the camera. I’ve compiled some details below to answer some frequently asked questions I receive.

Clothing

You’re encouraged to bring a variety of tops and together we’ll pick what you’ll shoot best in. If you’re “renting” your clothes from the store, we’ll be sure to hide any tags during the session.

Hair & Makeup

I currently do not have offerings for in-house hair and makeup. Come in with a good starting point and feel free to build up as we progress through the shoot. If you’d like to, BYOMUA.

Blemishes

I promise to take care of any blemish you desire as I’m editing your images as long as you promise not to try and hide them yourself with gobs of makeup. 🙂

Studio

Studio photography takes place in my home studio. If you’re interested in this style of headshot, let’s talk details and get something on the calendar.

Cats

I have two cats! This is really only relevant if you’re interested in shooting in the studio and are allergic to cats. If this is the case, let’s talk other options for your session location.

Shooting Format

I typically shoot horizontally; I think there’s something natural about following a plane of space side to side rather than up and down. If you prefer vertical shots, let me know.

Equipment

I shoot with Canon’s 5D series body, their L glass, and a combo of Profoto, Alien Bee, and Canon Speedlite lighting, which help me to make great images.

Tethering

To progress our session, I shoot tethered to my laptop. This allows us to see, correct and continue shooting as each image populates on the screen in live-time.

Proofing

Digital proofs are typically delivered inside a two-week window from your session date. You’re free to sit with the proofs as long as you need to finalize your order.
